Developer Contributions
« on: July 19, 2015, 02:26:10 pm »
Hi,

I see on soureforge EchoMac was a Open Source Project, before becoming EchoHam. Is there a way to contribute to the project? Where can I download the source code? (SourceForge seems to be weird, it really is well past it's sell by date)

Thanks

Bill

Unfortunately publishing an App via the Appstore ties the App to a particular apple user id (mine), which makes it difficult to publish an open source project.
However, the upside is that App distribution is super easy to access for all users which means free software is available to everyone at the press of a button.

EchoHam is not EchoMac, it is just based on some of the EchoMac source code but most of the backend has actually been re-written by myself to work in the more modern versions of OS X.

If you would like to contribute you can contact me by email support at apphugs dot com.

Well, for example, mumble mange to publish their Open Source VoIP client successfully on the App Store https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mumble/id443472808 http://wiki.mumble.info/wiki/Main_Page

In anycase, I'll send you an email and we can chat in private.

Thanks
