EchoHam / Favorites?
« Last post by IronArcher on June 07, 2021, 03:52:32 pm »
Is there a way to save your favorite repeaters or groups?

If not, I would suggest that for any new updates ;)
(Not updating to big Sur until a new version is ready ;)  )

Thanks!

EchoHam / Re: 2.14 worked on Catalina, now doesn't.

I believe I may have found the problem:
In the settings/options it states "Unless you know what you are doing, please leave all items DISABLED (Default).
The 3 boxes you can check read:
DISABLE port check
DISABLE uPnP
DISABLE NAT-PMP
Being that it said to disable them, I checked the boxes saying to disable them.

Going back and hovering over each box, it then said that it was NOT recommended to check the box  :o ::) :-\

Perhaps in future versions, the warning message should read "Please leave these items ENABLED (leave the box UN-checked).

I was going to delete the post, but figured this might help someone.

Finally got Echoham 2.14 to work on Catalina. But after closing and restarting, I can not connect to any repeaters or groups.
Not even Echotest.
I get no error messages, but everything I try to connect to times out.
Im guessing its just a setting somewhere.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

P.S. I CAN connect with my phone app.

Modbus Client (Pro) / Re: How to set the port number to 502?
« Last post by support on April 24, 2021, 09:20:08 am »
Prior to macOS V10.14 (Mojave) all ports below 1023 require root privileges for full access. A workaround solution is explained in the ModbusClient Help section.
From 10.14 onwards this restriction has been removed and you can simply set the port number to 502.

Modbus Client (Pro) / Re: How to read MODBUS register
« Last post by support on April 24, 2021, 09:08:01 am »
0x0FFD = 4093
If that doesn't work try +1 and -1, i.e. 4092 and 4094

Register addresses can be 0 based or 1 based, depending on Modbus device, hence try the addresses either side of 4093

Hope this helps

Modbus Client (Pro) / How to read MODBUS register
« Last post by songl1993 on April 24, 2021, 08:17:43 am »
Hi I'm trying to read a value using TCP/IP MODBUS, and the register number is 0FFDH. I put the start address as "0" just to test it, and got "illegal function". Then I put in 255 (decimal value of 0FF), and still got "illegal function".

What kind of input value do you accept for the start address on MODBUS CLIENT?

Thank you,

EchoHam / Re: EchoHam 2.13 on Big Sur

EchoHam has not been tested on Big Sur and I would expect it not to work.
Unfortunately the Audio interface on Big Sur has been completely changed and is no longer compatible.
All audio related code needs to be completely re-written for Big Sur.
I'm hoping the Christmas break will allow me time to tackle the rewrite.

EchoHam / EchoHam 2.13 on Big Sur

Has anyone successfully connected to the EchoLink servers on Big Sur? My setup just hangs indefinitely without ever connecting. My router is setup to forward ports.

proxy connections are only partially implemented in V2.13. However, I have tested connection to public proxy servers and they do work.
You can find a list of public proxy server at https://www.echolink.org/proxylist.jsp
Find a suitable server and enter the details in Echolink.
